I was looking for something dramatic, abyssal as in a fall in a dream. We don’t know where we go, we don’t see the beginning nor the end of the story. We don’t know if we can touch the bottom, if it’s calm or rough.” Expanding on this through the choreography, Jalet details, “We worked together to recreate this ambivalent feeling we got from performing in the bay of Ishinomaki – one of the areas most devastated by the 2011 tsunami; the ambivalence of water as a simultaneously devastating and repairing force.
