With the colder months fast approaching here in the UK, Instagram @bunny_and_henry_and_moo_moo have some handy tips to get your bunnies ready for winter 🐰 • Secure all run covers and ensure there aren’t any drafts or signs of dampness in your set-up • Blankets are a great way to keep your rabbits warm, layering up lots of blankets will help to keep them cosy • Vet bedding helps to keep your rabbits warm and comfortable, it’s easy to wash and quick to dry • Snugglesafe microwave heat pads can keep your rabbits warm, they stay warm for 8 hours and also work well under water bowls to stop water freezing • Check all-natural toys for mould - mould can occur when the weather is damp and cold - be sure to air your run and shed where possible • Still allow your bunnies to have supervised safe garden free roam (weather permitting) - keeping your bunnies moving helps to keep them warm (Henry and Moo Moo don’t free roam if it’s raining or the ground is wet) • Providing lots of toys and boredom breakers throughout the day will also give your bunnies mental stimulation and get them moving to stay warm • Straw is an excellent insulator, be sure to add lots to hides and sleep areas • Check water bowls throughout the day to ensure that they haven’t frozen • Always provide your bunnies with unlimited access to fresh hay • Be sure to check your bunnies more regularly.
