Jedini Soko Galeb G-3! Yugoslav Jet Trainer Seagull G-3
Svoj prvi let avion G-3 izvešće 19. avgusta 1970. godine.
Counting on the successful export of the Seagull aircraft, in November 1969, Soko began the development of a sophisticated version of the Seagull aircraft. The development of the new version of the aircraft was entrusted to the design team of the Soko factory. It was an independent factory project, independent of the JNA General Staff and the Federal Secretariat for National Defense (SSNO), and was export-oriented. The aircraft had the front of the Seagull to the suction cup and the back of the Hawk from the suction cup to the tail. A new, more powerful engine was installed to provide better maneuverability and landing characteristics. Due to higher fuel consumption, the capacity of the wing recoil tanks is increased. The pilot’s cabin was also improved, which was reflected in the dashboard overhaul with the introduction of more modern equipment and appliances, and the cabin’s conditioning was introduced which made the flight conditions more comfortable. Minor structural reinforcements were also made due to the increase in overall weight. The sophisticated Seagull was designated G-3. They will report their first flight on the G-3 on 19 August 1970.
