China’s Hongdu JL-10: A Closer Look at the Next-Gen Trainer
For decades, the global market for advanced jet trainers has been dominated by three aircraft families: Northrop T-38 Talon, BAE Systems Hawk, and Aero Vodochody L-39. However, with the 2020s unfolding, a new generation of advanced jet trainers is gaining momentum. The US Air Force shifts to the Boeing T-7, the Russian Air Force adopts the Yakovlev Yak-130, and the US Navy and Royal Air Force plan to replace the Hawk by 2030. Amidst this transition, the Chinese Hongdu JL-10 emerges as a significant player in this evolving arena.
In this video, we’re taking a closer look at the Hongdu JL-10 and the implications this aircraft holds for the global supersonic jet trainer market.
