Slade’s first national television appearance, 4th November 1969. This clip taken from the 2012 compilation show Slade At The BBC. Gary Jordan, who was involved in the production Slade Night for the BBC in 2012, provided some background information about this clip: “Martha My Dear was originally shown on Top Of The Pops 2 in Sept 1997 and when Noddy was presenting an edition of Top of the Pops the following month of Oct 1997, producer Chris Cowey presented him with a copy of it. Wild Winds Are Blowing was screened in public for the first time since 1969 by Kaleidoscope at The Talbot Hotel Stourbridge in 2010. I used both on Slade at the BBC in 2012 and it was the first time Wild Winds Are Blowing had been seen on UK TV since the original 1969 broadcast.“
