They spend a lot of their time digging, recording vinyl mixtapes and playing DJ sets with amazing and little known music. Traveling to the Amazon for the last 5 years has led to a deep dive into the music from the region of Northern Brazil. EVFB are proud to present a first mixtape presenting unheard sounds of Carimbó, Lundun from Marajo Island and Lambada. Sounds that are deeply rooted in the afrobrazilian heritage. Small locally rooted labels like Erla, AMC, Gravasom, Japoti, Amazon Record, Amazon and many more made sure the music reached the local audiences in the 1970s and 1980s. Since the recent surge of Dona Onete as an international artist and the excellent Jambú compilation on Analogue Africa last year, Carimbó has gained more and more attention.
