The Iraqi Wrestling Show That Helped Save 41 Hostages

Antonio Inoki is NJPW’s founder and arguably its biggest ever star. Outside of wrestling, he’s had a successful political career too. In fact, in 1990, right before the Gulf War properly kicked off, he held a wrestling show in Baghdad that led to the release of all of Saddam Hussein’s Japanese hostages. Pretty cool.
