Sphinx & The dream of Thutmose IV

According to an inscription known as the dream, steely Pharaoh, Thutmose, the four fell asleep in the shadow of the Sphinx and had a dream in which the Sphinx spoke to him, promising him kingship if he cleared the sand away from its body. Thutmose, the four subsequently became pharaoh and fulfilled the Sphinx request which may have been a symbolic legitimization of his reign. @WaterWiseDefenders
