Here is a new transfer from an original mono copy of the first SAC LP on Uni Records. I think the mono is a stereo fold-down mix, but it’s still not a bad listen. This band famously featured Ed King, later of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Paul Buff also appears as engineer, making a distant Zappa connection. The title track “Incense & Peppermints“ (which only exists in mono) is the song that got me interested in psychedelic rock music -- truly a masterpiece of the genre!
For those looking for a nice digital version of this LP, I recommend tracking down a copy of this early stereo CD, which has better sound than the more common 2011 Sundazed reissue:
1) The World’s On Fire – 00:00
2) Birds In My Tree – 08:23
3) Lost To Live – 10:19
4) Strawberries Mean Love – 13:35
//
5) Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow – 16:39
6) Paxton’s Back Street Carnival – 19:46
7) Hummin’ Happy – 21:50
