Making a Bandsaw Box ($1200 Bandsaw vs $170 Bandsaw)

I recently took a class where we made a custom Bandsaw box on a $ Bandsaw. But this got me thinking, would it be possible to make an equivalent sized and shaped box on a much smaller and much cheaper benchtop bandsaw?
