Queen - Sail Away Sweet Sister (Excerpt of Take 1 & Take 2 With Guide Vocal)

This version of Sail Away Sweet Sister comes from the 2011 remasters by Bob Ludwig and was released on June 27th, 2011 in the UK. There is a 16 second instrumental excerpt of an take, which is musically similar to the album version, but more improvised, before the Guide Vocal comes in, so presumably comes from the same recording session. Another interesting gem from 2011’s Deluxe edition CDs, this first take of Sail Away Sweet Sister is an interesting work-in-progress version of the song. According to the liner notes, this take features all four members on instrumentation. Brian provides a guide vocal. Freddie’s middle vocal part had yet to be made part of the song at this point.
