Indirect questions (or embedded questions) - for when you need to be polite
Indirect questions (often called embedded questions) are useful things to know. We often use them when we’re talking to strangers and we want to be polite.
But the word order in indirect questions can be tricky. And that’s why we’re going to show you how to form them step by step.
First we’ll look at the normal word order in questions in English and then we’ll look at indirect questions, explain how they’re different and show you lots of examples.
