What Students Need To Know About Vaccinovigilance - A Potential Risks Associated with Vaccines.

Vigilance for vaccine safety is different from vigilance for drugs. At a high level, drugs are frequently used to treat disease, i.e., in individuals who have signs and symptoms of disease, whereas many vaccines are designed to prevent disease in otherwise healthy individuals. We will review some of the key differences between vaccinovigilance and pharmacovigilance and illustrate by describing selected initiatives. Vaccination is one of the most important achievements in public health. It prevented at least 10 million deaths from covid infection between 2020 and 2022. Despite substantial evidence for the benefits of immunization, they may not be immediately perceived by the general population. Moreover, misconceptions about vaccine safety still influence public confidence and adherence to immunization programmes.
