Most Hamas battalions are defeated, says Israel’s Netanyahu as military to press on in southern Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (February 24) that 17 of Hamas’ 24 combat battalions had been dismantled and the rest were mostly in the southern Gaza Strip - including Rafah, on the enclave’s Egyptian border. “We’ll take care of them, too,“ he said at the start of the weekly Israeli cabinet meeting, held in Tel Aviv. The war between Israel and Hamas terrorists has been raging for over 100 days, as Israel vowed to eradicate the terrorist group after Hamas killed and butchered over 1,200 people on October 7th.
