MP denied boarding Air Canada flight because his name is Mohammad

MP Mohammad Yasin, Labour’s representative for Bedford, was recently stopped from boarding a flight to Canada along with fellow MPs due to his name, facing delays and questioning by officials from both Air Canada and the Canadian government. Clive Betts, the committee chair, deemed this incident racist and Islamophobic, promising to write to the Canadian high commissioner in the UK. Yasin’s questioning included inquiries about carrying weapons and his place of birth, despite having a valid visa for entry.
