One of the premier pop/soul ballads from the early 60s, sung with great feeling by Jeanette (Baby) Washington. Born in South Carolina but raised in Harlem, New York, Jeanette was a member of a group called the Hearts before making her first solo recording as Baby Washington in 1957, Her first hits came two years later when she entered the US R&B Chart with her own composition, “This Time”. Her first Hot-100 entry followed in 1961 when “Nobody Cares (About Me)” – another one of her own songs - crested at #60.
