Demo of the Butterfly IQ handheld ultrasound tool

Employees at Butterfly Network conduct an informal demo of their new handheld ultrasound tool, the Butterfly IQ. The ultrasound wand uses a new technology to generate the ultrasound waves: a solid-state chip instead of today’s typical piezoelectric crystals. Butterfly Network says this change makes the device much smaller, more versatile, and cheaper to manufacture than existing ultrasound tools. The company plans to sell it for $2000 initially. This demo shows how the Butterfly IQ uses artificial intelligence to guide the user in image acquisition.
