Grieg - In the Hall of the Mountain King (Piano Toccata)

So here’s my spin on this infamous piece by Edvard Grieg. This piece, originally from the play “Peer Gynt“, is the perfect example of rising musical tension. The whole things sounds like an escalating musical argument. Fitting, seeing as the original music sets a scene where the crowd (made up of trolls, gnomes, and goblins) is working themselves into an uproar over what to do with the protagonist after he stole the affection of Mountain King’s daughter.
