[ The Garter Gives It Away ] (1930-1939)

Comedy skit about an unfaithful wife. Foppish looking man dressed in a suit and bow tie walks into a police station accompanied by an American policeman. The policeman is called Mr Kennedy and the man Mr Bradshaw. The Chief of Police is at his desk, he offers Mr Bradshaw a cigar. He has been charged with the murder of Butt Cooley (?). The policeman is eavesdropping. Mr Bradshaw is English. He will not reveal the name of the woman who was with him at the time he shot Butt Cooley. He asks if he pleads guilty would the search for this woman end? Policeman comes in with a piece of evidence from the scene of the crime. It is a cigarette case. A fight ensues as Bradshaw tries to stop the case from being opened. The case is opened. It contains a garter that belongs to the Police Chief’s wife. He points a gun at Mr Bradshaw and threatens to kill him. The door opens and a beautiful young woman walks in. Startled reaction from Bradshaw. She kisses the Police Chief - it is his wife.
