Television cameras film a theatre set. A door bearing the nameplate “Richard Todd“ is opened and we are invited to “come in and sit down“. Richard Todd talks about problems within the film industry over the last few years (presumably related to the drop in attendances due to television). He was present at the opening of the ABC cinema in Preston a few days previously and wants to show the audience how Associated British have faith in films and the cinema industry. They are “alive to the problems and want to beat them“. This is a Candid Camera television broadcast and Richard speaks of how cinema and television can coexist.
