Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II), performing her first solo engagement during the Royal Tour, opens a new graving dock in East London. C/U Princess Elizabeth’s standard flying over the dock. M/S The Union Jack and international flag. C/U which declares the dock open, flying. M/S the car, Daimler, carrying the Princess driving up to the dock. Princess Elizabeth alights. M/S She is greeted by Mr. Sturrock the Minister of Transport. M/S and C/U Princess Elizabeth, escorted by an officer inspecting a guard of honour. C/U Mr. Sturrock introduces the Princess. C/U and M/S Princess Elizabeth speaking holding her hat on as there is a stiff breeze blowing (natural sound). M/S she mounts dais. C/U she pulls the cords to unfurl the flag declaring the dock open.
