Shot looking down; some trees; bushes; below in FG; then across some open land; toward more trees and bushes; some soldiers can be seen moving below. Boom! Shells explode; smoke; across the open space CU field gun; set up pointing over a battered brick wall; with some bombed buildings in bg; a group of soldiers can be seen between wall and ruins. Gun fires. Soldier comes up behind it to reload. CU American General John J Pershing decorating young American soldier; standing at end of a row of other soldiers. Pershing turns around and speaks to an officer; then finishes pinning on the medal; steps back and speaks; then shakes hands; both he and the soldier smiling proudly. Honours; USA.
