Army Exercises (1939)

Unissued / unused material - dates and locations may be unknown / unclear. British troops undergo a pre-battle ’Baptism of Fire’ assault course at Woolacombe (?) - could be any time between 1939 - 1945. Stray shot of a man in a suit making awkward, bowing motions to a soldier on a field while a man in the background takes photographs (not sure if it belongs to this item). L/Ss of troops carrying rifles as they advance across an open beach. Soldiers lie on beach while explosive charges are detonated around them. The troops get up and walk on. Closer shots of troops lying flat on their fronts with helmets tilted forwards while machine gun bullets hit the sand in front of them. Soldiers make their way through barbed wire.
