Lord Mayor’s Day Parade AKA Lord Mayor’s Day (1915)

Lord Mayor’s day parade. Lord Mayor’s Day; London; 1915. New Lord Mayor; Sir W. Dunn. Opens with shot of Lord Mayor and entourage in traditional costume. Arriving; pan on them walking from carriage under umbrella. shot which actually came before the previous one — the gilded ornate state coach arriving in the rain; as men in those odd wide hats; with raincoats too; greet it. Then; shot of Lord Mayor; etc. standing at top of steps to watch parade. DS of Parade in progress — military soldier marching etc; of course; since World War One is in full swing. Troops on horses pulling heavy captured German guns on wheels. Still DS; from up high; of large Colonial Contingent — Anzac’s; etc. Also huge crowds of citizens push against each other; all bunched up on the pavements and in doorways of shops Wounded soldiers arriving in coach; heading to left; umbrellas and crutches (probably at Law Courts; where they were invited to watch from the balcony) Trucks with anti-air craft guns and a big searchlight.
