New British Industry - Hanworthy, Dorset (1914-1918)

New British Industry - Hanworthy, Dorset. Construction of concrete oil tankers at Hanworthy; Dorset; in England. Pan along fairly close on the upper part of the gantry- -frame from which a ship is launched; the top of this looks like a sort of wooden fence; while below a sort of wire covering over a wall on which are painted a successive numbers; like measurements. Next; pan on the grid; or maze of scaffolding on sides of the hull; poles and beams crossing at 90 and 45 degree angles. Stops briefly on the front of the hull peeking out of the structure; with some workers standing below in FG. Continue to pan left on more of this scaffolding GV from across water; the ship still within the scaffolding with a long arched roof built on top. The ship starts to emerge. Then side view of the long low oil tanker in the water; moving to left Front view ship; then pull back. Front diag. Shot ship; then pan left on ship’s starboard side. Same on port side. Shipbuilding; shipyard. Boats and ships. FILM ID:
