Western Front, France. World War One. Trench bombing; warfare; etc. Opens with some soldiers putting on gas masks that look like potato sacks or horror film villain. They tuck masks into their jackets; one man puts hat on top--pan along the soldiers. GV of countryside at the front; with long winding trench; some snow on the ground; no people visible.
