Clearing Streets Of Warsaw (1947)

M/S of the Mayors, other officials and Lewis Silkin, British Minister of Town and Country Planning, in a group. C/U individual shots of the Lord Mayors in turn: Mr Vasek and Mr Krosna of Prague, Mr Petrovic of Belgrade, Mr Maslov of Moscow, Mr Tarabanov of Sofia, Mr. Robert, Secretary of the French Cities Union. The group go on a tour around a greenhouse. Then Silkin and others are conducted round the devastated city and sees the new blocks of flats springing up amid the ruins. Several shots of students collecting money in the streets to rebuild Warsaw. They run onto buses to gain donations from people. Shots of male and female students building a house where various students organisations will be lodged. General view of people at work clearing up the ruins.
