Liberty Day. USA. 4th of July; 1918; New York. Opens with title frame; then iris out to shot of army band marching toward camera. Scottish bagpipe players in kilts in parade; also drummers. Truck with flatbed drives slowly toward cam. Carrying air plane. Then a shot looking up at the sky; with air planes flying high above; on left a corner of building with us flag. : Star-shaped matte through which we see a MS of more marching soldiers in straight lines. Great shot of a ship launching. The ship is sliding away; and as it goes a bunch of boys run after it on the track etc. Some of the young juvenile delinquents climbing on the scaffolding.
