DA 40 NG Flight Test: Spinning

Spinning The stall was approached with a normal bleed rate of 1kt/s, and at the stall full deflection of rudder in the desired spin direction and aileron against was applied. The controls were held for one complete turn, after which the recovery actions were initiated: Power: Idle Aileron: Neutral Rudder: Full opposite spin direction Elevator: Full forward Flaps: Retract In addition, abuse cases were investigated. These consisted of either an abnormal entry (e.g. higher bleed rate), or an abnormal recovery action (e.g. elevator forward without opposite rudder) for one full turn. All spins could be recovered by the normal spin recovery actions. Tested south of Wiener Neustadt, Austria (LOAN) with a DA 40 NG test aeroplane. The aeroplane was equipped with an anti-spin chute installed on the tail. * Disclaimer * Flight Test routinely operates its test aeroplanes outside normal operational limits.
