Manufacturing the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch | Sustainability

Produced from a single sheet of metal recycled from the temporary houses built in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake. In line with the concept ‘Share Your Light’, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch was created by using the aluminium extrusion technology used in the production of the Shinkansen aka The Bullet Train and designed to resemble the “sakura“ cherry blossom and the combining of traditional Japanese design with advanced technology.
