War Thunder Cinematic | Operation Polaris

Full Metal Summer is a collaborative effort of all the major War Thunder event servers to deliver 4 mind-blowingly grand and complex events, each from a different era, iconic scenario and utilising different modes of combat. The first battle of the collaboration is Operation Polaris, which is inspired by the PQ17 Convoy Raid in the Arctic Sea in 1942. American and British naval and air forces, spread out and confused in the stormy and treacherous Arctic conditions, are intercepted by a fearsome German fleet, and must protect the convoy en-route to the USSR with vital war material to continue the fight against Nazi Germany. Take the helm of small destroyers all the way up to large heavy cruisers, or take to the skies in carrier-borne attackers and fighters, spotter planes or anti-shipping strike aircraft in this iconic yet often overlooked naval engagement of WWII.
