Ave Maria(Schubert) played by Isao Suzuki(Japan) using his own custom-made upright bass. Isao’s double bass was built by a craftsman thirty-five years ago with his own design based on a form of a viola da gamba used primarily in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It is the only one in the world. Sometimes he uses it with strings for a cello to play in octave. At the time of this recording he puts electric bass strings on it to utilize the bass more fully.
