Friday 13th director Sean S. Cunningham talks horror and the enduring cult classics legacy

Producer/Director Sean S Cunningham, who is well known as Director of the Horror cult classic Friday 13th (1980) was in Belfast for a special screening of Friday the 13th and to premiere his new documentary ‘The Nurse With The Purple Hair’. Director Sean Cunningham said: “We have made twelve Friday the 13th’s and we’re about to make the 13th, I’m really hoping it’s going to be very, very big. “It is kind of a legacy and there is also Friday 13th game…We’re going to make a TV series which I’m really kind of up for because it’s different than you would expect but again we have the brand to start with and then we have the challenge of making it interesting and fun.” Belfast Film Festival is on from 30 March-9 April and will show over 125 films from 35 different countries in different venues across Belfast.
