‘I feel no hatred’: Slovakian PM speaks for the first time since assassination attempt
The Slovakian prime minister, Robert Fico, has made his first public comments since he was shot, saying that with a ‘small miracle’ he could return to work within weeks.

In a pre-recorded video posted on Facebook before the European parliament elections, Fico said there was no reason to believe the attack on him on 15 May was the act of a ‘lone lunatic’ and he called the attacker an activist of the Slovak opposition. Fico has been recovering from multiple wounds after being shot in the abdomen as he greeted supporters in the town of Handlová. A suspect was arrested. Fico has said he felt ‘no hatred’ towards his attacker and that he forgives him
