In this video we are introducing Tartini’s “The Art of Ornamentation“. For improvisation it’s useful to have certain stock patterns to ornament in certain styles. Tartini gives us an overview of basic ornaments and some larger patterns we can use on basic building blocks.
In this video we are diving into the basic ornaments. Now don’t run away just yet! We think Tartini gives some interesting approaches to these basic ornaments, and also tells us a bit about their use in our improvisations (character, speed, options, etc.).
Next week we will do a series around the larger patterns!
