China-U.S. Trade

The U.S. government has expressed an expectation of holding dialogue with leading Chinese trade officials for a review of the phase-one trade deal, the first time since U.S. President Joe Biden took the White House. The last time the two biggest economies discussed the phase-one deal was in August. The deal stipulates that senior level consultations take place every six months. Beijing and Washington have held talks on climate change, diplomacy and strategic topics since March. What can we expect from this trade negotiation? Could the phase-one trade deal be maintained?
