New English Channel Tidal model

Tidetech’s new tidal model for the English Channel (La Manche ). It incorporates tidal height. This video shows how the tidal height changes as high tide (red shading) progresses up the Channel. Low tide is represented as blue shading. Lines of equal tidal height (co-tidal lines) are shown as contours. A close up of the Isle of Wight shows clearly how the tidal signature of the region results in a double high water in the Southampton region. Similarly, Portland and Weymouth experience double low waters. Tidal streams are shown as black arrows.
