Leonid Kogan, Elizaveta Gilels, Pavel Kogan play Vivaldi Concerto RV 551 - video 1966

Leonid Kogan, his wife Elizaveta Gilels, and their son Pavel Kogan, playing the finale of Vivaldi’s Concerto for three violins in F major, RV 551. This was recorded in 1966 and comes from a Soviet TV programme called Голубой огонек which hosted mostly light entertainment (popular song and dance). I can only imagine how Leonid felt being there. It’s rare to catch a glimpse of Elizaveta Gilels (sister of Emil Gilels), let alone all three together. Four years later Pavel won the Sibelius competition.
