You won’t believe this BUSHCRAFT KAYAK Build | Minimal Tools ASMR

One of the most valuable survival skills is being able to figure out how to use the tools and natural resources you have available. And if you need to get out on the water then a bushcraft boat is in order. This week we’re using minimal hand tools and some woodworking skills to build a bushcraft skin on frame kayak with nothing but a tarp, a mora knife, a small folding saw, and some bank line. I made the kayak ribs from green oceanspray that I peeled, bent around a tree, and tied in place. After a day of drying in the sun, they held their shape and I tied them into the hoops that would form the ribs of the kayak. The kayak frame slats are made from western red cedar, split from a tree that was blown down during a storm. I used the mora knife and wedges to split off the long slats which were then shaved to size and shape before being lashed to the ribs.
