AT ROCKET GUN vs A7V | WW1 Armour Penetration Simulation

The simulation presents the “AT Rocket Gun“, popularised by Battlefield 1, against the frontal armour of a German A7V heavy tank. While it is commonly referred to as the rocket gun, the British breech-loading Vickers Q.F. gun, Mk II was a light artillery piece, designed for the trenches, and does not use a rocket at all. It never entered service in the army, but was field tested on aircraft instead. Therefore, the simulation presents a hypothetical scenario, at extremely close range. Based on material testing of samples taken from an A7V, the armour was ~230BHN in hardness, with a slightly lower elongation limit than WWII and newer RHA. This has been accounted for in the simulation. Amazing thumbnail artwork from: Gleb Lopukhov
