The Parisian flower girls of the artist Louis Marie de Schryver absolutely delighted art fans not only in France, but all over the world, toward the end of the nineteenth century. The son of a well-known and famous journalist, artist Louis Marie de Schryver was born in Paris in October 1862. He had an early interest in painting and his works “Daisies and Chrysanthemums,“ “Violets and Spring Flowers“ were presented at the Paris Salon in 1876, when he was just 13 years old. The young artist was welcomed to his world-famous drawing school by the renowned Philip Rousseau. And it was remarkable - the children at the school were nearly twice Louis Marie de Schryver’s age. Nevertheless, Louis Marie de Schryver was not a student at the famed master’s school for long; in 1879, at the age of 17, the young artist displayed his works at the Paris Salon and was given a bronze medal for one of his paintings.
