Why is Science Important and What it has to do with us | Yezhi Chen | TEDxYouth@LYBS

In my opinion, there are two main reasons that science can help us solve these problems. It teaches people how to think and it can help us come up with new solutions to old problems. It has helped me to think objectively and open-mindedly, and it can also help people remain open-minded and more accepting. It can help them accept alarming truths and innovations (such as climate change). It also helps solve the world’s problems(medical/social/environmental problems) and innovates in technology. I hope that we can work together to do what is necessary with the scientific method guiding us. My motto is “Dare to think, challenge, and express.“ I hope that I can help my fellow schoolmates see and care more about under-spoken communities with my bilingual advantage. I dream of a world where objective and holistic education is the mainstream way, with people accepting new ideas and being innovative every day. My Vision and Mission are to widen the perspective of my fellow schoolmates and help as much as I can to maintain an objective environment.
