Bartok - music for strings, percussion & celeste {Part 3/4}

Adagio The core of the piece. This movement has an ABCBA form, of which the parts are interconnected by parts of the fugue theme. The movement begins and ends with high notes on the xylophone (due to aforementioned symmetry), then moves on to a rhapsodically entwined theme played by viola.
