Moranbong Band Victory Day Celebration Performance 2012 (전승절경축 모란봉악단공연 2012년)

Recorded: Mokran Video, DPRK After their debut just three weeks earlier in front of of a smaller audience but with the Supreme Leader present, here’s their first performance in a large arena full of ordinary people. The concert is divided in two parts where the first one hour long half contains almost exclusively newly rehearsed material. They had been practicing day an night until they literarily fainted to make this event happen. There are some minor imperfections in the strings here and there, probably due to the short time they had at disposal to prepare the often technically very demanding music parts. The audio recording is also slightly substandard and one gets the impression there may have been some problems with fold-back to the performers, too.
