Antonín Dvořák spent the years between 1892 - 1895 working in America as the Director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York. It was during this time that he wrote Symphony No. 9, “From the new World“. This symphony was the one that brought him the most resounding success in 1893 when it was first performed.
