Well this is a gorgeous song, isn’t it?
The musical architecture of “Something“ is complex and breathtaking. It was a pleasure and quite unbelievable to uncover, learn and perform all of these parts. There’s so much going on - pizzicato violas, a layered string background, an intermittent rhythm guitar (which I’ve concluded had a capo on the 3rd fret), Ringo’s incredible tom fills, Paul’s bass countermelodies, that frantic, incredible middle 8 (one of the truly great Beatle moments) - and of course, the solo. I hope I did it justice.
This might be the most beautiful Beatles song ever. Loved recording this.
