CELINE DION’S SONG FOR PARIS OLYMPICS 2024

Celine Dion made a remarkable comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. After a four-year hiatus due to her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, Dion delivered an emotional performance of “Hymne à l’amour,“ a song popularized by French singer Edith Piaf. This marked her first performance since announcing her illness in 2022 (Peoplemag) (Daily Hive Van). Dion’s appearance at the Paris Games was highly anticipated and was seen as an ideal opportunity for her to return to the stage given the nature of the event. She wore a stunning white couture Dior gown and performed under the rain, capturing the hearts of the audience and receiving a standing ovation (Daily Hive Van). The performance was particularly moving for many, including NBC broadcast team member Kelly Clarkson, who was brought to tears during and after Dion’s performance. Dion expressed her joy and honor to perform at such a prestigious event and celebrate the athletes’ stories of perseverance and dedication (Peoplemag).
