“HONEYMOON PHASE” is the counterpart song to “I DON’T NEED TO BE FIXED”, taking place prior to the events of the prom. The primary struggle that Maud faces is fading away from her current partner Mudbriar. The first time falling in love when you’re young is equally very confusing and exciting. But the lack of maturity and experience leaves only for those eager feelings to prevail over objective things. This is the honeymoon phase, that limerance that guides young and ill-informed romance. Seeing Maud as such a quiet character, I thought it was really important to create a story about her inner, unspoken feelings and struggles.
