This Rolex which was made in 1964 and was a recent ebay purchase from a dealer in the US. Intended as a gift to be given on a particular date the Rolex was left unopened for over a month. When it was unwrapped the new owner soon discovered that the Rolex was running at least four hours fast a day. Unable to send the watch back because the vendors 28 day no quibble returns policy had been exceeded the owner turned to Rolex in UK to get the watch fixed. But Rolex declined the work pointing out in doing so the presence of non-Rolex Parts on the watch. The watch’s owner was beginning to regret buying the watch from ebay and was running out of options; and then he found me!
In this video I encounter several unexpected challenges and figure out a path to a successful restoration.
