Current supplies for this video: My paper is cut into inch squares from 70lb sketch book paper or from colored heavy cardstock, my pen is a Kuretake Zig Millennium 01, my pencil is a student grade Royal HB. I blend my graphite with a blending stump. My brush pen is by Sakura. If I color I will use either Prismacolor colored pencils or Artists Loft Water color dual tip markers. A string is used to give a guide as to how to compose a tile. A string can be used as a literal ’border’ to define an area or as a suggestion as to where to place a pattern. Sometimes in a finished tile the string can be clearly seen and sometimes it disappears into the work.
